"My editor Gabby is seriously the best. She is so professional and personal that I feel like I'm having coffee with my friend while she's pointing out potential improvements for my manuscript. And she has extended what her edits include since the last time I worked with her so the information provided has greater depth and detail. Working with her pumps me up for editing sessions. It's a very busy time at my day job but all I want to do is review my edits and get to work!"

“Gabby Goodloe has the most analytical and yet creative mind for words out of anyone I have had the pleasure of meeting. Getting to know her over the years has only deepened my admiration of her linguistic abilities. It is always a pleasure to work with her, knowing the end product will be better because of her involvement.”

  • Penina, author

“I happened to be nearby when Gabrielle responded to a request for feedback during a writers meetup. Right there and off the cuff she asked insightful questions that helped the writer spot places to focus, improve, and find a way forward with his project. She is always encouraging while at the same time sharing valuable observations that inspire (and when needed, "un-stick") creatives. I've never worked with her in an editing situation, but she is the first person I'd call on and the first I'd recommend.”

  • Brenda Gauper, author

“I am in the process of writing a memoir and was really flying blind. I reached out to Gabby for further direction and support to help me move forward. Her genuine kindness and interest in my project shined from her first e-mails. The Editors letter that she has provided me has given me a needed framework to advance me further and set me up for success. Besides all the necessary suggestions and guidance, Gabby has provided me with unexpected inspiration; the perfect fuel to see this project in print.”

“Gabby has truly provided what so many of we writers in Portland have been needing- a non-intimidating, welcoming writing space for anybody and everybody. When a need was voiced and soon echoed in a social media group for an in-person writing community, Gabby stepped up to the plate as our group leader and formed PDX Writing Group, which continues to grow and grow at each meeting, as word gets out! With her incredibly thoughtful nature and contagious sense of humor, Gabby motivates each of us constantly to think outside the box, to listen to and encourage each other in our writings, while inspiring us to keep going, and keep returning to PDX Writing Group. Thanks to Gabby, we have now acquired such an incredible group of talented writers, each providing so much support and a variety of wonderful perspectives from all different backgrounds! I feel honored to get to connect with these amazing humans twice a month, share a safe writing space, a coffee or beer, and exchange ideas while having the best time. And this is all because of Gabby- we love her so much!!”

A PROFESSIONAL AT DOING SCARY SHIT (OH YEAH, AND DEVELOPING STORIES).

Gabby is a queer developmental editor, writing coach, and self-proclaimed hype-woman who has a passion for elevating romance and LGBTQIA+ stories (especially if swords and magic are involved).

Since successfully starting her editing business back in 2021, she’s organized writing groups in her local community, co-founded a rebelliously educational and supportive community for writers, developed and hosted workshops on craft and publishing, empowered dozens of writers from fiction to nonfiction, and somehow still managed to pack up her life in Portland, OR and move abroad to Portugal.

With a wickedly supportive tongue and an unhinged devotion to storytelling and the courageous writers who share their magic, Gabby has found her calling in supporting and empowering the human behind the page.
